Let's get stitching!

Applique means to layer one piece of fabric over another.  It’s fun to add some decorative touches to your felt projects with applique.  

In felt applique, you layer felt on felt.  Cut out a felt shape that you would like to layer onto another piece of felt and sew one on top of the other.

In general, two stitches that work well for applique are the whip stitch and the running stitch.  Check those stitches out for more details.

You can use any pattern to create a felt cut-out for your applique.  Try some of the simple, free embroidery patterns.
